If you’re looking for a dependable, everyday firewood with a little bit of everything, our Mixed Hardwood BurnBox is a wonderful place to start. It was our bestseller last winter, and it’s easy to see why. With a lovely selection of British hardwoods, predominantly ash, it offers excellent everyday value and a beautiful, characterful fire.
Every box is slightly different, depending on the timber available. Ash brings its familiar, easy-going warmth and lively flame, while the other hardwoods add their own qualities and character. It’s a lovely natural mixture, rather than a fixed recipe, so the proportions of each wood will vary.
All our hardwood logs are carefully kiln-dried to a target moisture content of around 12%, with some even drier. They arrive ready to burn, with no seasoning needed. Each log measures between 20cm and 25cm long, making them a practical choice for many household wood burners, fireplaces and outdoor fires.
We take just as much care packing our mixed hardwood as we do our single-species boxes. Every 50 litre BurnBox is filled by hand, fitting the logs snugly together to make the most of the space. You can expect roughly 20 substantial logs, although the number naturally varies with their size and shape.
Perfect for cosy evenings at home, weekends at the cottage or gathering around a permitted campfire. Simply order whenever you need more, or enjoy regular DPD deliveries through our flexible subscription service.
Good, honest British hardwood that makes enjoying a real fire wonderfully simple.
A lovely all-round choice for everyday fires, whether you’re enjoying a cosy evening by the wood burner, relaxing at a holiday cottage or gathering around a fire pit. Perfect for camping and bushcraft where fires are permitted, too. The convenient 50 litre box is especially handy for homes with limited storage, while boats and campervans can also enjoy our hardwood logs with a suitably installed stove that accommodates their size.
We believe good firewood should care for the countryside it comes from. That’s why we source our British timber from Forestry Commission woodlands, where responsible woodland management helps protect and maintain our forests for future generations.
Our logs are kiln-dried using residual heat from our nearby biomass plant, making good use of energy that might otherwise go to waste. Even the sawdust has a purpose. It becomes bedding for local poultry sheds before being returned to the land as a natural fertiliser for the crops that help fuel the biomass plant. It’s a wonderfully practical cycle that makes the most of our natural resources.
Every BurnBox is carefully packed by hand into recyclable cardboard, keeping unnecessary packaging to a minimum. And when your logs are ready, they’re brought straight to your door by DPD through their carbon-neutral UK delivery service.
From responsibly managed woodland to your wood burner, we believe in making thoughtful choices at every stage. Because enjoying the warmth of a real fire should go hand in hand with caring for the countryside we all love.
