If you love a fire that keeps you warm well into the evening, British oak is a wonderful choice. Dense and substantial, it burns slowly and steadily once established, giving you lasting warmth for cosy nights by the stove, outdoor gatherings around the fire pit or a spot of wood-fired cooking.
Our British oak logs are carefully kiln-dried to a target moisture content of around 12%, with some even drier. They arrive ready to burn, with no seasoning needed. Each log measures between 20cm and 25cm long, making them a practical choice for many household wood burners and suitable outdoor fires.
Oak rewards a little patience. Start with dry kindling and smaller logs to build a good bed of glowing embers, then add your oak and let it catch properly. Once established, you’ll enjoy a beautifully steady fire that provides warmth long into the evening. Just remember to maintain a healthy flame and good airflow, following your appliance’s instructions rather than letting the logs smoulder.
Every 50 litre BurnBox is carefully packed by hand, fitting the logs snugly together to make the most of the space. You’ll receive roughly 20 substantial logs, although numbers naturally vary with their shape and thickness.

Wonderful British firewood for those evenings when you want the warmth to linger a little longer.
A wonderful choice for anyone who enjoys a long, warming fire, whether it’s a cosy evening beside the wood burner, homemade pizzas from a wood-fired oven or gathering around the fire pit. Oak is also well suited to compatible sauna and hot-tub heaters. Just check your appliance’s fuel requirements and that it can accommodate logs up to 25cm long.
We believe good firewood should care for the countryside it comes from. That’s why we source our British timber from Forestry Commission woodlands, where responsible woodland management helps protect and maintain our forests for future generations.
Our logs are kiln-dried using residual heat from our nearby biomass plant, making good use of energy that might otherwise go to waste. Even the sawdust has a purpose. It becomes bedding for local poultry sheds before being returned to the land as a natural fertiliser for the crops that help fuel the biomass plant. It’s a wonderfully practical cycle that makes the most of our natural resources.
Every BurnBox is carefully packed by hand into recyclable cardboard, keeping unnecessary packaging to a minimum. And when your logs are ready, they’re brought straight to your door by DPD through their carbon-neutral UK delivery service.
From responsibly managed woodland to your wood burner, we believe in making thoughtful choices at every stage. Because enjoying the warmth of a real fire should go hand in hand with caring for the countryside we all love.
